Prom

In spirit of all of the proms that have been going on, I have decided to do a post on my own prom. This is a time period in my life that I often miss for several reasons. I really miss high school dances because I love formals and I love getting dressed up. I also miss it because senior year was probably one of the best times of my life. I hate to say it, but it has kind of gone downhill since then. But that will be for another post =].

Monroe High School's prom in 2008 was held at The Rooster Tail in Detroit. This was a very nice place and unlike the previous years, we had the whole place to ourselves. Getting there wasn't a problem either because we had a limo for transportation, thank God for that. I didn't have a date and most of the people I went with did, but it ended up being okay. I had so much fun and I will never forget it.

Without further ado (is that how you even spell that? haha), here are the pictures.

Here I am, getting ready to leave. It took me a while to get ready and I got my hair done early. I wanted to take a nap so bad! I also noticed that this year, the dress style seems to have changed. Instead of big and poofy, I have seen a lot of satin, form-fitting ones. I like those too. I wish I would have had a chance to wear something like that too.

Here is part of the limo group. After this, we picked up more people. No pictures with them, though. =[

Some of our dinner group. I really miss these girls, especially when I see pictures like this. They made my senior year awesome.

Symone and I on the dance floor. We may not hang out all the time, but we still try to keep in touch and are good friends.

Last but not least, we have Aki and I. We definitely don't talk very often but I will always consider him a friend. Miss you Ne Wat!! (haha don't even ask about that last part, I don't even fully understand it myself.)

So here is my senior prom, one of the best times in my life and something I will always look back on and miss. Hope everyone had a good prom this year!

P.S. The rest of the pictures I have right now are on my myspace. I also have an album with them too.

So I basically, I decided to start a blog because I want to record the things that happen to me, even though they usually aren't very interesting, and so that way I can write about things that I get excited about even if no one else does. That was like the longest run on sentence ever. Anyway, this is basically to satisfy my need of sharing things with people because some of the things I get excited about, aren't exciting to others. Even it no one reads this, at least I'll know it's recorded somewhere.

For my first post, I would like to talk about the coolest website that I just found out about. First, you will need a little background info on me, though.

I have recently taken up a new hobby. It is something that I always knew how to do, but never really developed the skill. That would be crocheting. I've already made a few things and I really really like it. I'm a person who always needs to be doing something and I liked to feel accomplished so this is a good hobby for me.

This website that I am talking about is called Ravelry. I don't even think I know how to say it, so its better to write about it anyway =]. It is a website where you can record all of your projects, and everything about them, add favorite projects from others, get patterns, etc. It truly is a crocheters paradise. I was thinking of getting together a portfolio but that would be a to design all the sheets and I don't have any color ink so I don't know where I'd get it printed.

Another cool site that is a little more well-known is etsy. That has everything imaginable on there and I spend hours on it. I love it. If I have one talent, I must say I am fairly crafty. It may not be much, but at least its something.

Here are some screenshots of Ravelry:

These are my projects so far, including those I'm working on right now.

These are the things in my queue, which means things that I am going to make in the future.

I just love this website and I just had to share it with something/someone! =D
